Geology

Purpose

Geology courses have been neglected for far too long in our nation's high schools. Nationally, school counselors push students to take the three traditional science courses of physics, chemistry, and biology. Although the State of Washington has Learning Standards for Earth Sciences (Goals ES1 - ES3), many schools look over these standards. The map below shows states that have begun to sucessfully teach Geology or Earth Sciences. (For more information, click here.)
